HOW IT STARTED

This was never the dream growing up.

Like most young lads from Brighton & Hove – or anywhere in the UK – we spent all of our time kicking, throwing and hitting a ball around.

Dreaming of becoming the next big footballer, rugby player or anything that would keep us away from a 'boring job' – and make us millions while we were at it.

Well, unfortunately, that didn't quite happen.

Instead, it was the glitz and glamour of utilities that came calling.

And since the start of our careers, we've had our fair share of questionable recruitment experiences.

So much so that after years of moaning at each other over a few too many pints, we decided to try it ourselves and launched Marsh RPF in 2022.

MEET SAM

Before Marsh RPF, I spent 15 years in energy and utility infrastructure, spanning DNO, IDNO, ICP, and multi-utility connections.

I have direct experience of what it takes to build a team in these markets – from managing technical requirements and programme pressures to dealing with compliance and the frustration of working with agencies who couldn't keep up.

Day to day, I lead the client side of the business – understanding what hiring managers need, how to brief a search properly, and what a decent shortlist looks like.

MEET CHRIS

I spent the early part of my career at EDF before moving into recruitment.

As a candidate, I saw the industry from the other side – recruiters who didn’t know their stuff, roles that were misrepresented and jobs that were never going to work. I knew things could be done better, and those frustrations inspired the conversations Sam and I had before launching Marsh RPF.

Today, I lead the delivery side of the business – handling everything from sourcing and qualification to interviews and placements. I build direct relationships with our candidates and contractors to ensure they're always put forward properly.
