An owner and operator of high voltage electricity networks across transmission, distribution and private wire (11kV-400kV) is hiring a Head of HSE to build and lead its safety function, reporting to the COO.
It's a confidential search for someone who has built or matured an HSE management system, with a small team to grow and a business that is still scaling.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll set the HSE strategy and a five-year safety plan, and build or right-size the management system and the governance around it.
You'll lead operational and technical HSE across network adoption, build and operation, with oversight of contractors, projects and ICPs.
You'll run assurance, audit, incident management and investigation, and look after environmental compliance.
You'll coach the business to a higher standard rather than police it, and hire, lead and grow your team as the business expands.
ABOUT YOU
- You've built or matured an HSE management system, not just run one
- You've led and grown HSE people, and you coach rather than police
- You have a growth mindset and you're comfortable when the path isn't fully mapped
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- A power or electrical background. Other high-hazard sectors are considered with live-asset exposure
- NEBOSH Diploma and CMIOSH, or working towards CMIOSH
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, including CDM and HV electrical safety
- Experience of contractor and project HSE oversight, assurance and incident investigation
- Credibility with the executive and on site
