A licensed independent connection provider is hiring two Lead Project Engineers to be the technical authority on its 11kV to 132kV projects.
It's an engineering-led seat, home-based across England, Wales and Scotland, with a car, overtime and bonus on top.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll act as the technical lead across your allocated projects, giving clear engineering advice and making sure schemes meet legislation, standards and DNO requirements.
You'll support bids and tenders, reviewing enquiries, flagging engineering risks and shaping early concepts, then review electrical and civil designs for compliance and constructability.
You'll manage the interfaces between designers, DNOs, IDNOs, suppliers and delivery teams, and back the project managers and site teams on live schemes, overseeing subcontractor work client-side.
You'll support testing, commissioning and energisation, capture lessons learned, help set technical standards and mentor the engineers coming through.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Eight to ten years' experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects
- Hands-on work between 11kV and 132kV, from concept through to energisation
- Strong knowledge of primary substation design, protection and control, earthing, cable systems, transformers and switchgear
- Working knowledge of DNO and National Grid processes, contestable and non-contestable connections, and G99
- Experience with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs or utility contractors
- A degree in electrical engineering is welcome, as is CEng or progress towards it, and IOSH or SMSTS
