An Ofgem-licensed independent network operator is hiring a Project Manager to lead its extra high voltage connections, up to 132kV.
You'll report to the Programme Lead and take each scheme from award through to energisation and adoption onto the network.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll own a book of EHV connection projects for generation, battery storage and data centre customers, acting as technical lead on each one from award through to adoption.
The networks are built by Independent Connection Providers. You'll manage them against the approved design and the customer's energisation date, and keep developers, DNOs and transmission owners updated.
You'll run each scheme through a stage gate investment process, bringing in design, audit, land rights, street works, legal and finance at the right point, with Monday.com as the record.
Before energisation you'll secure Approval to Energise, then agree the Transfer of Network Operation and Control, hand over to asset management and close out with a lessons learned review.
ABOUT YOU
- You've spent at least five years leading the construction, commissioning and energisation of electrical networks

- You're comfortable as the client-side technical lead, holding contractors to the approved design and the programme
- You keep customers informed before they have to chase, and you build working relationships across teams
- You can run several schemes at once, each at a different gate, without losing the detail
WHAT YOU’LL NEED

- A strong understanding of distribution connection construction and commissioning, including substations and cable networks
- A working knowledge of project and asset management systems
- Experience in transmission or distribution alongside IDNOs or ICPs, or on renewables or data centre connections, is a strong plus
