An independent network operator with a five-year growth plan is hiring a Networks Director to lead its whole network operation, reporting to the Managing Director.
It's a confidential search for someone who has built and grown an operation, with a growth share and a March 2027 start.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll be accountable for the network end to end, from LV up to 400kV, covering network control, real-time operations, switching and event response.
You'll lead a team of authorised HV engineers and SAPs across IDNO and private wire networks, working alongside contractors on inspection and maintenance, and restoration and repair, plus asset management.
You'll run the connections function, covering network modifications, new connections and generation applications.
You'll keep the network safe, reliable and compliant with DSRs and GSOP, keep customer minutes lost down, own the operational budget and KPIs, and get the operation ready for new assets as the business grows.
ABOUT YOU
- You've run live electricity network operations and you know what a good control room looks like
- You've grown a team or an operation, not just kept one running
- You're energised by a growth plan and comfortable when the path isn't fully mapped
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Substantial operational leadership in electricity distribution or transmission, including EHV
- Experience of network and system control environments
- AP or SAP authorisation on HV/EHV networks
- A strong grasp of DSRs, GSOP and industry Codes of Practice
- A track record of running in-house and outsourced field delivery
- Degree, HNC or HND in electrical engineering, or equivalent
