A Power T&D EPC contractor delivering on the major UK transmission and distribution frameworks is hiring a Lead Cable Design Engineer.
You'll take technical ownership of 33kV to 400kV underground cable schemes, from inception through to construction support.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll act as design authority on your schemes, leading either the cable system design and calculations – rating, bonding, SVL and EMI – or the civil and route design.
On the civils side that means trench, duct, joint bay and HDD design, and both backgrounds are being considered.
You'll chair client design reviews and mentor the intermediate designers and graduates, with chartership support and a clear path towards Engineering Manager.
ABOUT YOU
- You lead cable system design, or civil and route design on cable schemes, and want design authority
- You're confident chairing design reviews with clients
- You want to develop the engineers coming through
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Senior underground cable design experience on transmission or distribution schemes
- Depth in cable system design (rating, bonding, SVL and EMI) or in trench, duct, joint bay and HDD design
- Experience mentoring designers and leading client design reviews
