A Tier 1 infrastructure contractor is delivering one of the largest transmission upgrades in Scotland's central belt, as sole contractor.
This is the senior technical seat across the whole programme, working from a joint project office with the transmission owner.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll hold technical governance across the whole programme rather than a single scheme – substation extensions and new transformers, a new 275kV/400kV overhead line, reconductoring and 132kV undergrounding.
You'll own the engineering standards and assurance the programme is delivered to, the design interfaces between the three workstreams, and technical sign-off when they conflict.
You'll hold the senior technical relationship with the transmission owner from the joint office, on a funded, consented programme with an initial five-year term and an option to extend to ten.
ABOUT YOU
- You've held engineering or technical assurance on one discipline and want the view across a whole programme
- You're a design manager who wants to own the standards rather than the schedule
- Your technical depth is real – you're the person the transmission owner calls when two workstreams disagree
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Senior technical or engineering management experience on transmission schemes, with real depth at 132kV and above
- Governance and assurance responsibility across more than one discipline – substations, overhead line or HV cable
- Chartered engineer, or a clear and evidenced pathway
- Comfortable as the senior technical interface with a transmission owner or DNO
- Working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 and how technical change flows into commercial change
- UK right to work. No visa sponsorship
