A Power T&D EPC contractor delivering on the major UK transmission and distribution frameworks is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to hold engineering authority across its whole portfolio.
Overhead line, cable and civils all sit under this seat, from 33kV to 400kV.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll hold overall technical accountability across the portfolio, owning the design standards, procedures and quality approach, and acting as engineering authority on the high-value, complex schemes.
You'll provide technical governance across the full EPC lifecycle, from feasibility through detailed design to construction support and as-built.
You'll manage engineering resource across concurrent projects and line-manage the discipline Engineering Managers, balancing workload against programme and commercial pressure.
Externally, you'll be the senior technical face of the business at client governance forums and design review boards, and lead the technical content of tenders and PQQs.
ABOUT YOU
- You're an Engineering Manager who has taken one discipline as far as it goes and wants the whole portfolio
- You're an Engineering Director in a larger business who wants real authority in a smaller one

- Fifteen years or more in Power T&D engineering, with significant exposure at 132kV and above
- A record of leading engineering functions rather than single design teams, with Engineering Managers or discipline leads reporting to you
- Engineering authority and sign-off responsibility on complex transmission or distribution schemes
- Chartered Engineer with the IET, ICE or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of UK network operator technical specifications and CDM 2015 designer duties
- Commercial grip on fee estimation, technical risk and the technical sections of framework bids
